Kate Barker

These expressive works cleverly combine painting with drawing and mark making. Kate has a natural mastery with colour, adding gestural details of coastal plants and rock formations she reveals the beauty and fragility of our coasts.  Walking the coastline with her sketch books, and art materials, making small paintings and studies, she documents and collects all she needs to create larger works back in her studio.
